Nicolas Cage is a son of comparative literature professor August Coppola ( a brother of director Francis Ford Coppola ) and dancer/choreographer Joy Vogelsang. Cage changed his name early in his career to make his own reputation, succeding briliantly with a host of classic, quirky roles by the late 1980s.

Nicolas Cage was born Nicolas Kim Coppola on January 7, 1964 in Long Beach, California, but prefers to go by Nick. Initialy studying theater at Beverly Hills High ( though he dropped out at 17 ) be secured a bit part in Fast Times at Ridgemont High ( 1982 )--most of which was cut, dashing his hopes and leading to a job selling pop corn at the Fairfux Theater, thinking that would be the only route to a movie career. But a job reading lines with auditionees for uncle Francis Rumble Fish ( 1983 ) landed him a role in that film, followed by the punk-rocker in Valley Girl ( 1983 ) which was released first and truly launched his career. Cage spent the remainder of the decade playing endearingly bizarre and disreputable men, most notably as Crazy Charlie the Appliance King in Peggy_Sue_Got_Married (1986), Hi McDonough in Raising_Arizona (1987), and Ronny Cammareri in the same year's Moonstruck, the last of which won him a Golden Globe nomination and a legion of female fans, ecstatic over the actor's unconventional romantic appeal. Cage played H.I. McDonnough, an unsuccessful petty thief who marries his arresting officer (Holly Hunter), only to learn that the couple cannot conceive. When they hatch and execute a plan to steal a baby from a wealthy Arizonan business owner (Trey Wilson), all hell breaks loose, including the unleashing of a motorcycle-riding bounty hunter (Randall 'Tex' Cobb) who acts like the spawn of Satan himself.
Continuing with his penchant for independent film, Cage probably single-handedly guaranteed a perpetual cult status for "Vampire's Kiss" (1989) when he ate a live cockroach in another method-acting stunt; previously he had knocked out a tooth for the filming of "Birdy." In David Lynch's surrealist odyssey, "Wild at Heart" (1990), he was a violent ex-con with an Elvis Presley fixation - much like Cage in real life - who falls into a steamy relationship with the daughter (Laura Dern) of a rich, but mentally unstable Southern woman (Diane Ladd). Though critics united with the public in ignoring "Amos and Andrew" (1993), Cage's wacky charm was central to the success of Andrew Bergman's comedy "Honeymoon in Vegas" (1992). Unfortunately Bergman couldn't repeat the formula for "It Could Happen to You" (1994), despite the presence of Cage in that cast. Returning to Sin City for Mike Figgis' "Leaving Las Vegas" (1995), Cage delivered an uncharacteristically subtle, multi-layered performance as an alcoholic writer who g s to Vegas to drink himself to death. Bringing warmth and humor to what could have been an unsympathetic role, Cage earned rave notices, while winning nearly every conceivable award, including his first Academy Award for Best Leading Actor.
Following his Oscar win, Cage unexpectedly reinvented himself as an action hero, starring in a trio of blockbuster muscle movies that elevated him to the ranks of aging icons Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone and Harrison Ford - certainly in terms of salary per picture. In his first big budget actioner, "The Rock" (1996), he played an at-first geeky FBI biochemist opposite Sean Connery - who was the only man ever to have escaped from Alcatraz - to free hostages on the famous island prison. Then in "Con Air" (1997), Cage matched his bad-luck good guy with offbeat Federal Marshall John Cusack to foil the machinations of some of the hardest criminals ever assembled, including a mastermind serial killer (John Malkovich). After playing a psychotic terrorist who swaps identities with FBI guy John Travolta in John Woo's "Face/Off" (1997), Cage enjoyed a respite from actioners in "City of Angels" (1998), a love story inspired by Wim Wenders' "Wings of Desire" (1988), before returning to action fare as corrupt homicide detective frantically searching for an assassin who killed the U.S. Secretary of Defense (J l Fabiani) in Brian De Palma's crime thriller "Snake Eyes" (1998). In 1999, Cage starred in two edgy thrillers - the vile, depressing crime thriller about snuff films, "8mm," and the intriguing, but ultimately empty black comedy "Bringing out the Dead."
After a turn as a man who comes to question his values and work ethic in the lightly dramatic romantic comedy The_Family_Man in 2000, Cage moved back into action with Gone in 60 Seconds before expanding his career in the newfound role of producer to such films as Shadow of the Vampire (2000), Sonny (2002) (which he also directed) and, The Life of David Gale (2003). That same year also found Cage in the role of romantic lead opposite Penelope_Cruz in the eagerly anticipated Captain_Corelli's_Mandolin. Long considered a mainstream actor of decidedly quirky sensibilities, Cage cemented this perception in teaming with Being_John_Malkovich director Spike_Jonze for a duel role in the complex comedy Adaptation (2002). With Cage appearing as both screenwriter Charlie_Kaufman as well as his fictional brother Donald, Adaptation followed Charlie's attempt to adapt author Susan_Orlean's seemingly unfilmable novel -The Orchid Thief as a feature film, and Donald's parallel efforts to write his own hacky yet lucrative script by following the guidance of a caustic, Syd_Field-like screenwriting instructor (Brian_Cox). A weighty role that demanded an actor capable of portraying characters that couldn't differ more emotionally despite their outward appearance, Adaptation brought Cage his second Oscar nomination.
Cage continued to please critics in 2003 with his well-received performance in the comedy Matchstick_Men, as a flim-flam man suffering from obsessive-compulsive disorder. Lucky for fans of Cage's popcorn flicks, in 2004 he proved he hadn't completely abandoned buttered popcorn movies. That year saw the release of the megahit adventure film National_Treasure. Directed by Jon_Turteltaub, the picture cast Cage as an archaeologist convinced there's a treasure map on the back of the U.S. Declaration of Independence. In 2005, Cage portrayed the lead in Gore_Verbinski's The_Weather_Man, a tragi-comedy that received mixed reviews. He made the ill-advised decision to star in Neil LaBute's reworking of the Robin_Hardy/Anthony_Shaffer collaboration The_Wicker_Man (2006), with Cage inheriting the role of the sacrificial victim from Edward_Woodward and Ellen_Burstyn assuming a variant on the vile Christopher_Lee role as Lady Summerisle; unfortunately, that film bombed. Cage fared better with the lead in Oliver_Stone's thriller World_Trade_Center, released mere weeks prior, where he played one of the Port Authority police officers trapped beneath the trade center with one of his partners.
2007 found Cage gravitating magnetically to action roles in elephantine, Hollywood blockbusters that recalled his work in The_Rock and Face/Off ten years earlier. He began the year by portraying the title character -- a motorcycle-driving stuntman who sells his soul to Mephistopheles -- in Mark_Steven_Johnson's live-action comic book adaptation Ghost_Rider. Upon premiering in the States, the film became a big success. In the same year's sci-fi thriller Next, directed by Lee_Tamahori, Cage plays Cris Johnson, a man who attains the ability to see into the future and must suddenly decide between saving himself and saving the world; the film failed to ignite the way Ghost_Rider did just a couple months before it. Cage then made an effort to recapture the success of National_Treasure with a sequel, National Treasure: Book of Secrets, that finds Benjamin Franklin Gates (Cage) attempting to deduce the "secrets" of Abe_Lincoln's assassination by tracking down the missing pages from John Wilkes Booth's diary. And there is a shocking recently news from New Orleans that adapted from Yahoo news on 16th April 2011 informed that the actor Nicolas Cage was arrested after he got drunk in the city's French Quarter and argued in the street with his wife over whether a house they were in front of was theirs, police said Saturday.
The couple was in front of a home that Cage insisted they were renting, police said. When she said it wasn't theirs, Cage grabbed her arm, according to a police news release.
Cage started hitting vehicles and tried to get into a taxi, police said. An officer saw that Cage was drunk and told him to get out of the cab. Cage then started yelling at the officer. The actor has been booked on charges of domestic abuse battery, disturbing the peace and public drunkenness. He was released on $11,000 bond Saturday.
Representatives for Cage could not immediately be reached Saturday.
Cage has been a frequent visitor to New Orleans, where he has owned property and shot movies. He has also had financial troubles, despite being one of the highest-paid stars in Hollywood.
He had been behind on taxes and has said he's had to sell numerous assets because of his finances. He sued his former business manager in October 2009 for $20 million, claiming the man's advice led him to financial ruin. but finally he is in the clear following his arrest in New Orleans, Louisiana last month (Apr11) after authorities decided not to pursue charges. The Con Air actor was taken into police custody in the city after cops were called following a bust-up between the star and his wife Alice Kim. Cage was subsequently freed on bail and now local officials have decided to close their investigation into the incident.
Cage's rep Harry Rosenberg says, "The New Orleans District Attorney has confirmed that no charges of any kind will be pursued against him. After their investigation, the DAs refused all charges against Nick and the matter has been closed.
"We are pleased that the process led to the correct result, despite inaccurate media reports, and that Nick has been cleared and all charges have been dropped."
And what about Angelina Jolie ? Do you want to know more about her ? Here are all about her

Angelina Jolie
Angelina Jolie Voight born June 4, 1975) is an American actress. She has received an Academy Award, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and three Golden Globe Awards. Jolie promotes humanitarian causes, and is noted for her work with refugees as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). She has been cited as one of the world's most attractive people, as well as the world's "sexiest" and "most beautiful" woman, titles for which she has received substantial media attention. Growing up in Los Angeles, Jolie was no stranger to the film industry, being the daughter of Academy Award-winning actor Jon Voight. She later trained and performed at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute, where she was seen in several stage productions.
She worked as a professional model in London, New York and Los Angeles, and has also appeared in music videos for such artists as Meat Loaf, Lenny Kravitz, Antonello Venditti and The Lemonheads. In addition, she has acted in five student films for the USC School of Cinema, all directed by her brother, James Haven.
Although she made her screen debut as a child with her father Jon Voight in the 1982 film Lookin' to Get Out, Jolie's acting career began in earnest a decade later with the low-budget production Cyborg 2 (1993). Her first leading role in a major film was in the cyber-thriller Hackers (1995). She starred in the critically acclaimed biographical television films George Wallace (1997) and Gia (1998), and won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the drama Girl, Interrupted (1999). Jolie achieved wider fame after her portrayal of video game heroine Lara Croft in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001), and since then has established herself as one of the best-known and highest-paid actresses in Hollywood. In 2004, Jolie began filming Mr. and Mrs. Smith (2005) with co-star Brad Pitt. The film became a major box office success. There were rumors that Pitt and Jolie had an affair while filming "Smith". Jolie insisted that because her mother had been hurt by adultery, she herself could never participate in an affair with a married man, therefore there had been no affair with Pitt at that time. Nonetheless, Pitt separated from his wife Jennifer Aniston in January 2005 and, in the months that followed, he was frequently seen in public with Jolie, apparently as a couple. Pitt's divorce was finalized later in 2005.
Jolie and Pitt announced in early 2006 that they would have a child together, and Jolie gave birth to daughter Shiloh that May. They also adopted a three-year-old Vietnamese boy named Pax. The couple continues to pursue movie and humanitarian projects.
